We welcomed 14 volunteers from Poole based Cycling Sports Group UK to Bourne. The team undertook a massive weeding, pruning and clean-up of all the planters nearest our new Community Hub, in Northmere Road. As the Hub is due to open this summer, local residents were keen to spruce the area up.
Abi Hadley-Clift, HR Manager of Cycling Sports Group UK said ‘We had a really worthwhile and valuable time with the team on Thursday. We enjoyed coming together to give back to the community and we hope the residents enjoy the fantastic new community hub when it is completed,.We hope they agree the hard work from the team has helped the planters and general area surrounding the hub live up to the impressiveness of the new facility. This is definitely not the last project we will be taking part in, and would encourage other businesses to get involved in similar projects’.
Debbie Dixon, Project Manager said ‘ It was super to meet the team who worked incredibly hard to transform the planters. It was a cold day and everyone kept warm by litter picking, weeding , pruning and clearing up. It was fantastic to hear 2 of the volunteers had grown up in the area. So really great to be giving something back. We will have bike racks at the new Hub , so we very much hope Cycling Sports Group will visit us again on 2 wheels!’
