Turlin Moor Skatepark

A Vibrant Hub for Turlin Moor's Young People

We want to build more than just ramps and rails, we want to create a free, inclusive space where young people can thrive. With your help we can transform a long abandoned space into a vibrant hub for creativity, activity and connection.

Why a Skatepark?

Since 2016, Poole Communities Trust has worked alongside local residents in Turlin Moor to understand what their community truly needs. Time and again, one message stood out: local children and young people deserve better spaces to play, socialise and grow.

Together with eight determined local mums, who formed Play Moor Skate Moor, we committed to delivering two transformational projects:

  • Phase 1: A modern playpark for younger children
  • Phase 2: A professionally built, inclusive skatepark for older children, teenagers and adults.

Thanks to incredible local support and funders. Phase 1 is already a reality. The new playpark is now buzzing with energy and laughter. But our job isn’t done yet. Now it’s time for Phase 2!

Where are we now?

The demand for a skatepark has never been stronger. We’ve secured council support, completed all site surveys, and partnered with Maverick Skateparks, one of the UK’s leading designers and builders of community skate spaces.

We have identified the perfect location: a disused patch of land in the centre of the estate, which was once a car park and community centre, now left abandoned for over 20 years. It’s time to turn this forgotten space into something the whole community can be proud of!

To move forward, we are launching a dedicated CrowdFunding campaign to raise the funds!

This is your chance to be part of something lasting, something built by and for the community.

The Skatepark will be:

  • Free to use, open to all
  • Designed for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced skaters, scooter riders and BMXers
  • Shaped by the community, through workshops and consultations with local young people
  • Built to last, using high-quality materials and professional construction standards

Most importantly, it will be a place where young people can belong. A space that encourages confidence, creativity and community spirit.

Beyond the concrete, the impact is huge! Skateparks have been shown to reduce anti-social behaviour, boost mental and physical wellbeing, and create positive social connections across all ages. For a community like Turlin Moor, where over 2,300 young people currently have very few local recreational options, this will be a game changer.

What can you do?

We have already seen what this community can achieve. The success of the playpark proves what is possible when people come together with a shared goal. Now we need your help to finish what we started.

How you can help?

  • Make a pledge: every donation, big or small, gets us closer to our goal.
  • Spread the word: share our campaign and tell others why this matters.
  • Offer a reward: if you are a local business, donate a product or service we can use to thank supporters.
  • Fundraise with us: run your own challenge or event to support the cause. We will help you get started!

Let’s turn a long held dream into a reality.

Let’s build the Turlin Moor Skatepark together.
